Our ensemble member Maria Neumann is being honoured with this year's Ruhr Prize for Art and Science. The city of Mülheim awards this prize annually to personalities from the fields of science and art who have rendered outstanding services to Mülheim through their work. Maria Neumann has been an actress at the Theater an der Ruhr since 1986 and is a prominent face of the theatre.
‘According to the award jury, ‘Maria Neumann has the gift of jumping from one role to another and making the characters even stronger and clearer with each change. She impresses with the high concentration of her acting and the strong physical presence of the characters she embodies.’
