Steffen Reuber

is an actor and was born in 1964 in Rüsselsheim.

After graduating from high school, he did his community service in an integrative kindergarten. He discarded the idea of professional music training (classical guitar) and initially decided to study to become a teacher (biology, sports, German), which he financed in part as a handball player. This was followed by training at the Mainz Drama School. First permanent engagements led him to the Landestheater Niederbayern in Landshut and Stadttheater Gießen, among others. Since the 2000/01 season, Steffen Reuber has been a permanent member of the ensemble at Theater an der Ruhr and has also made guest appearances at the Staatstheater Darmstadt, among others. Steffen Reuber regularly works as a narrator in various radio plays and features for public broadcasters. In the field of radio plays, he has worked under the direction of Jörg Schlüter with Bernhard Schütz, Jens Harzer and Udo Schenk, among others. In addition, he occasionally participates in TV productions. In 2016, he was instrumental in the creation of an inclusive film project with people with intellectual and multiple disabilities. He donated the basic idea of the plot (Hephaistos) and worked as a play director both preparatory and during the shooting with the actors. Theater pedagogy combines essential basic motifs from Reuber's career. Therefore, he gladly accepts requests from this field to lead thematic workshops, to prepare young people for upcoming theater visits or to visit school classes.
