Mats Süthoff
was born in Aachen in 1992 and is a theatre and film maker who also works as an author, director, mask player and choreographer.
After studying physical theatre at the Folkwang University of the Arts, Mats became part of the Familie Flöz mask theatre group in 2017. As an author and actor, he is involved in the internationally touring productions "Dr Nest", "Himmelerde", "Hokuspokus" and "Unter dem Meer". In addition to his work with Flöz, he works as a freelance choreographer and dramaturge at various theatres in German-speaking countries. The medium of film is a constant companion for him. Over the years, he has been fascinated by producing a wide variety of formats, from short films to advertising and music videos. His first full-length feature film "Seoul Subscriber" was released in 2020, followed by his new short film "Hikikomori" in 2023. In 2023, the play "Die Eingeborenen von Maria Blut" (directed by Lucia Bihler) received an invitation to the Theatertreffen, for which he designed the choreography and mask play. He is currently working on a new creation with the Flöz family, choreographing a dance theatre piece in cooperation with CulturBazar Aachen and SALLY Dansgezelschap Maastricht. Together with Alexander Klessinger, he is directing Oedipus.
