Paulina Alpen

is a freelance actress and choreographer. She was born in Mering in 1992 and grew up in Vienna.

After her dance training at the Vienna Conservatory and her acting studies at the Folkwang University of the Arts, she joined the ensemble of the Staatstheater Mainz for two years. She has been a freelance actress since 2019 and has worked with Lucia Bihler, Karin Beier, Wolfgang Menardi and Philipp Stölzl, among others.
In addition to her work as an actress, she also works as a choreographer, most recently at the Residenztheater Munich in ‘James Brown trug Lockenwickler’ (director: Philipp Stölzl), at the Volkstheater Munich in ‘Hildesaga’ (director: Christina Tscharyiski) and at the Burgtheater Vienna in ‘Die Jagdgesellschaft’ (director: Lucia Bihler).
She is currently playing Gregor Samsa in ‘Die Verwandlung’ at the Burgtheater Vienna (director: Lucia Bihler) and David in ‘The Lobster’ at the Volkstheater Munich from September (director: Lucia Bihler). ‘Oedipus’ is her first production at the theatre an der Ruhr theatre.
