Sven Schlötcke

Artistic director/managing director, dramaturge and member of the artistic program team was born in Rostock in 1961.

Sven Schlötcke worked as a musician, first studied medicine, then directing at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin, where he later also worked as a lecturer and mentor for a year of acting studies. He also completed an MBA at the University of South Alabama. In 1991, he founded the Theaterhaus Jena with Horst-J. Lonius and actors, which was spun off from the municipal association as a gGmbH in 1993 and of which he was a founding partner. The model was structurally based on the THEATER AN DER RUHR. He has directed at various theaters, including in Berlin, Jena and New York, and was instrumental in developing the concept of the Theaterhaus Jena, which sees theater as a communicative Gesamtkunstwerk.
