Theater an der Ruhr organizes the festival series "Internationale Theaterlandschaften" for the first time, in which a theater country is presented over three years. Invitation to the "Donaufest Ost-West" to Ulm with "Der kroatische Faust". Theater an der Ruhr organizes a Polish Film Week at the Theater im Raffelbergpark. The city of Mülheim awards the Ruhr Prize for Art and Science to the Theater an der Ruhr.

The second awarding of the Gordana-Kosanovic-Actor Prize in Belgrade by the Friends of Theater an der Ruhr goes to Veronika Drolc and Miki Manoilovic. Invitation to the 23rd Belgrade International Theatre Festival BITEF. "Kaspar" is awarded the Grand Prix and the 1st Audience Award, "Die Bakchen" receives the 3rd Audience Award. The newspaper Politika awards Roberto Ciulli the prize for the best direction for "Kaspar".

Premiere of Heinrich von Kleist's "Das Käthchen von Heilbronn" in Ljubljana. This is the first time that a German theater has staged a premiere abroad. The German-language performance was a co-production with the cultural center "Cankarjev Dom".

Guest performance in the GDR : presentation of art and culture from NRW in Leipzig with "Der kroatische Faust" and "Kaspar".

Premiere of "In der Strafkolonie" by Franz Kafka, Ciulli's longtime directorial collaborator Ulrich Greb presents his first directorial work.

The Roma Theater Pralipe from Skopje brings with great success the premieres "Ratvale Bijava" (Blood Wedding) by Federico Garcia Lorca and "Marat/ Sade" by Peter Weiss in the production of Rahim Burhan in the Theater im Raffelbergpark and makes guest appearances in numerous cities in the Federal Republic as well as in Holland and Switzerland. This is the first step towards a long-term cooperation between Theater Pralipe and Theater an der Ruhr. For the second time, Theater an der Ruhr will give a guest performance in Warsaw. Here, with a total of 5 productions, "Clowns", "Die Bakchen", "Leonce und Lena", "Die Dreigroschenoper" and "Der kroatische Faust", a work show takes place, which gives the Polish public deeper insights into the overall work of the Theater an der Ruhr.

For the third time, the Theater an der Ruhr is organizing a guest performance of the Turkish State Theater in North Rhine-Westphalia. All seven performances of Aziz Nesin's play "Yasar, lebt er nun oder lebt er nicht" are sold out.

Premieres at Grillotheater Essen and Stadthalle Mülheim with Anton Cechov's "Drei Schwestern", a co-production with the Schauspiel Essen.

Third year of "Theaterlandschaft Polen": groups from Gardzienice, Gdansk, Poznan and Warsaw are guests. In addition, the "Solidarnosc" exhibition by Jerzy Kalina takes place in the underground car park of the City-Center Mülheim.

Invitation to the Vienna Festival with "Kaspar". Guest performance in Maribor with "Kaspar".

Premiere of Sophocles' "König Ödipus" (new translation by Helmut Schäfer) in the Stadthalle Mülheim. This premiere opens the festival month of November on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Theater an der Ruhr. Gralf-Edzard Habben has installed an exhibition in the foyer of the Stadthalle that reflects the performances of the last 10 years.

The "Initiativkreis Ruhrgebiet" supports the international festival "Theater für Europa - Entdeckungen" , to which the Theater an der Ruhr has invited two productions from the Slovenian Theater Maribor, Goethe's "Faust I and "Faust II" as well as Shakespeare's "Hamlet" and Genet's "Die Zofen" from the Moscow Satirikon Theater. The performances are very well received by the audience and the press.

The Art Porter Jazz Quartet from Chicago gives several concerts at the Theater im Raffelbergpark with great success.

The first European Theater Seminar is supported by the Ministry of Culture of North Rhine-Westphalia. Under the direction of Helmut Schäfer, the seminar brings together an international group of theater people, scholars and journalists on the topic of "Theater nach dem Verfall der Geschichte". The results of the conference will be published in 1994 in a bilingual volume by felidae-Verlag.

Third awarding of the Gordana Kosanovic Acting Prize by the Friends of the Theater an der Ruhr to Kirsten Dene. Two books about the work of Theater an der Ruhr are published: "Das Abendland versuchen" by Erinnya Wolf and "Die Theatervisionen des Roberto Ciulli" by felidae-Verlag Essen. With continued support from the Ministry of Culture of North Rhine-Westphalia, the Roma Theater Pralipe can continue to work in Mülheim under the umbrella of the Theater an der Ruhr.

On November 27, the premiere of Shakespeare's "Othello" comes out. The Roma Theater Pralipe makes guest appearances with this performance as well as with "Ratvale Bijava" (The Blood Wedding) in the Federal Republic and in other European countries from January 1991.

At the invitation of the Theater an der Ruhr, the Belgrade theater "Jugoslovensko Dramsko Pozoriste" gives a guest performance in Mülheim with the production of the Macedonian director Slobodan Unkovski's "L'illusion comique". The performance is a great success and becomes a symbol of understanding in a time of fierce political conflict.

Invitation to the ninth Caracas International Theater Festival with "Dantons Tod", "Kaspar" and "Tote ohne Begräbnis".

The premiere of "Nachtasyl/ Die Ausnahme und die Regel" (Gorki/ Brecht) planned for April 29 cannot take place because the Stadthalle Mülheim is on strike by the city's technical staff organized in the ÖTV. For this reason, rehearsals will continue in a friendly Dutch theater in Nijmegen.

Premiere of "Nachtasyl/ Die Ausnahme und die Regel" (Gorki/ Brecht) at the Stadthalle Mülheim.

Theater an der Ruhr undertakes a five-week tour of South America with "Dantons Tod", "Kaspar" and "Tote ohne Begräbnis". Stops of the tour are Santiago de Chile, Quito/ Ecuador, San Jose/ Costa Rica, the International Theater Festival Mexico. This tour is one of the largest and most successful events of the Goethe-Institut.

Premiere of the Roma Theater Pralipe with "Sieben gegen Theben/Antigone" (Aeschylus/ Sophocles) in co-production with the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus.

"Kultur gegen Gewalt" is the name of the initiative of the Theater an der Ruhr with the Roma Theater Pralipe, which calls for protest against the increasing xenophobia in Germany. Under the motto "Die Zigeuner sind wieder da", Theater Pralipe shows its performance "Ratvale Bijava" (Blood Wedding) in Romanes from November '92 to January '93 in about 15 cities in the Federal Republic, including Halle, Hoyerswerda, Lübeck, Magdeburg, Munich, Rostock. The "Bewegung eines anderen Deutschland" calls for solidarity and discussion. Discussions with politicians and the audience will take place after each performance. The spontaneously organized tour is supported by the Ministry of Culture of North Rhine-Westphalia and is very well received by the population and the media.

Premiere of Shakespeare's "Macbeth" first in Ludwigshafen as a co-production with the Theater im Pfalzbau, then in the Stadthalle Mülheim. Roberto Ciulli is working on the production together with filmmaker Hans Peter Clahsen. Klaus Arzberger, costume designer and artistic director of the Theater an der Ruhr since its founding, dies of HIV.

Within the festival first  year "Theaterlandschaft Russland" various theater groups from Moscow and St. Petersburg will give guest performances in Mülheim.

The 12th NRW Theatertreffen, organized this year by the Theater an der Ruhr in Mülheim, opens with the premiere of Theater Pralipe's "O Baro Phani" after Zivko Cingo (The Great Water). The Roma Theater receives the prize for the best production.

At the request of the Minister of Culture and the General Director of the Turkish State Theater, Roberto Ciulli is leading a three-week theater seminar in Istanbul, which is intended to contribute to the renewal of the content and structure of the Turkish State Theater.

For the second time, the Theater an der Ruhr is organizing the international festival "Theater für Europa -Entdeckungen" on behalf of the Initiativkreis Ruhrgebiet in Mülheim with contributions from Cameroon, Chile, Italy and Turkey.

Premieres of "Teatro Comico" based on motifs by Carlo Goldoni in the Stadthalle Mülheim and "Veracruz" based on motifs by Euripides, the performance that opens the new venue in the Ringlokschuppen at Schloß Broich.

For the first time, a co-production between a German theater and the State Theater of Turkey is taking place. With actors from various cities in Turkey and the director Müge Gürman, Roberto Ciulli is working on "Bernarda Albas Haus" by Federico Garcia Lorca in Turkish in Mülheim.

Premiere of "Bernarda Albas Haus" at the Stadthalle Mülheim. Until the end of April, the Turkish ensemble will give guest performances in more than 20 cities in the Federal Republic. The production will then be incorporated into the repertoire of the State Theater of Turkey.

In Moscow, the Friends of the Theater an der Ruhr award the Gordana Kosanovic Acting Prize for the fourth time. This year's winner is the actor Alexander Mesenzew.

Premiere of Bertolt Brecht's "Im Dickicht der Städte" in German and Turkish at the Ringlokschuppen am Schloß Broich. After Roberto Ciulli's production of "Bernarda Albas Haus" last year, in which only actors from the Turkish State Theater took part, the cooperation is to be intensified in the performance of "Im Dickicht der Städte". Both Turkish and German actors will be involved. The translation will not be solved technically, but scenically. The performance will be included in the repertoire of the Theater an der Ruhr. Multilingual performances are to become a natural part of German theater repertoires.

Work show of the Theater an der Ruhr in the Reithalle Munich. Within two weeks, 2 performances of each of Roberto Ciulli's 6 current productions are presented. Invitation to the 15th NRW-Theatertreffen in Düsseldorf with "Don Juan". The Roma Theater Pralipe celebrates its 25th anniversary with the performance "O Drumo/ Der Weg".

Guest performance at the "Dionysia Festival" in Veroli and Rome with "Im Dickicht der Städte".

For the fifth time, the Friends of the Theater an der Ruhr are awarding the Gordana Kosanovic Acting Prize. This year's prize winner is Angela Winkler. The guest is the dancer Wilson Pico from Ecuador.

For his special services to the common good, Roberto Ciulli is awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany by President Roman Herzog. The citation states: As co-founder and as artistic director of the Theater an der Ruhr, he has shaped the city of Mülheim/ Ruhr into a European place of theater.

Through the "International Theaterlandschaften" initiated by him, the richness of foreign cultures is brought closer to the German audience.

Premiere of Slobodan Snajder's "Die Schlangenhaut" at the Theater an der Ruhr in the Ringlokschuppen Mülheim.

On October 10, 1997, the Theater an der Ruhr in Raffelbergpark is ceremoniously reopened. The former Solbad was the seat of the Mülheim theater until 1994 and was renovated with funds from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the city of Mülheim.

On October 17/18/19, the premiere of "Pinocchio/Faust" (Collodi Goethe) takes place at the Theater im Raffelbergpark.
"Theaterlandschaft Post-Jugoslawien": productions from the republics of Yugoslavia, Croatia, Bosnia and Slovenia are shown at the Theater im Raffelbergpark.

For the first time, the Mulokot Theater from Karshi, Uzbekistan, and the Taliá Theater from Cairo, Egypt, give guest performances at the Theater im Raffelbergpark as part of the project The Silk Road.

Premiere of the Roma Theater Pralipe with "Yerma" by Federico Garcia Lorca at the Theater an der Ruhr in Raffelbergpark. As part of the project The Silk Road, a unique concert with Sufi musicians of the Ne'matollahi Order from Isfahan, Iran takes place at the Theater im Raffelbergpark.

Symposium in cooperation with the Evangelische Akademie Mülheim an der Ruhr. "Als Gott und Mensch sich auf der Seidenstrasse trafen".

On February 10, the premiere "Liebe. Frauen. Brecht. Ein unzüchtiges Geburtstagsständchen" by and with Karin Neuhäuser (vocals), Matthias Flake (piano) and Gerd Posny (saxophone, percussion) will take place at the Theater im Raffelbergpark.

On March 5, the premiere of Kafka's play "Ein Bericht für eine Akademie" with the Kurdish actor Ferhade Feqi took place.

From March 26 to April 12, the sixth "Festival Iberoamericano de Teatro de Bogota" took place in Bogotá, Colombia. The Theater an der Ruhr was the only German theater represented with four plays: Chekhov's "Der Kirschgarten", Moliere's "Don Juan", Brecht's "Im Dickicht der Städte" and "Teatro Comico" based on motifs by Carlo Goldoni.

On May 23, 24 and 25, the premiere of Eduardo de Filippo's "Nach Einlass kein Beginn" - five one-act plays - will take place as the German premiere at Theater an der Ruhr in Raffelbergpark.

The Mülheim premiere of Nigel William's "Der Klassenfeind" by Roma Theater Pralipe, a co-production with Theater der Stadt Duisburg as part of the 22nd Duisburger Akzente, will take place on June 3 at Theater an der Ruhr in Raffelbergpark.

Following the guest performance of the Theater an der Ruhr in Colombia, Malgorzata Bartula, Simone Thoma and David Hevia will lead a summer seminar for acting and directing at the "Casa del Teatro".

To open the season, the Theater an der Ruhr in Raffelbergpark will host the international theater festival "Theaterlandschaft Seidenstrasse" from September 11 to 22. Groups from Iran, Uzbekistan and Syria are invited. For the first time since the Islamic Revolution in 1979, theater groups from the Islamic Republic will come to Germany as part of an exchange between Theater an der Ruhr and Iran.

Gralf-Edzard Habben is a jury member of the International Festival for Experimental Theater in Cairo. Roberto Ciulli is honored for his special services to intercultural theater work.

The Theater an der Ruhr is invited to the International Theater Festival Mess '98 in Sarajevo with the production "Der Kirschgarten" and the Roma Theater Pralipe with "Yerma". Theater an der Ruhr gives a guest performance of "Pinocchio Faust" at the El-Salaam Theater in Cairo, Egypt.

On October 28, 1998, the premiere of Roma Theater Pralipe "Der Streit" by Marivaux took place at Theater an der Ruhr in Raffelbergpark. This is the first Pralipe production in which Romanes is also spoken, but mainly German.

The Roma Theater Pralipe receives the Lorca Prize of the International Theater Institute of the Mediterranean in Fuentevaqueros, Spain. At the same time, the Theater an der Ruhr receives a certificate for its commitment against xenophobia.

In view of the Kosovo war, seven theater nights "Zum ewigen Frieden" are held at the Theater im Raffelbergpark.

For the first time, the "Junge Theater an der Ruhr" is presenting the results of its previous work in public: "Bobok. Szenische Fragmente" and "Glaube Liebe Hoffnung" by Ödön von Horvárth. Theater an der Ruhr gives guest performances of Brecht's "Im Dickicht der Städte" (in Turkish and German) in Ankara and Istanbul.

The German Theater Academy Almaty from Kazakhstan plays Ingrid Lausund's "Glücksfelder". At the invitation of the Theater an der Ruhr, the Yugoslav Dramatic Theater from Belgrade performs Biljana Srbljanovic's "Belgrader Trilogie" and the Center for Cultural Decontamination performs "Eva Braun" Monologue in Mülheim an der Ruhr between June 6 and 9.

The Theater an der Ruhr is awarded the main prize for the best production for "Margarete Faust" at the 18th NRW-Theatertreffen in Paderborn. As part of the Author's Theater Festival in Karshi, Uzbekistan, Kafka's "Ein Bericht für eine Akademie" is performed in Turkish for the first time with Ferhade Feqi.

For the second time David Hevia conducts a summer seminar for actors and directors in collaboration with Casa del Teatro in Bogota, Colombia.

An open-air performance of Molierès' "Don Juan" takes place to mark the reopening of the historic park in Raffelbergpark. In cooperation with the Protestant Academy of Mülheim and Iserlohn, the symposium "Cultural Exchange or Cultural Boycott? What helps human rights?" will take place. On September 11 and 12, the premiere of "Bürger Schippel" by Carl Sternheim takes place at the Theater an der Ruhr in Raffelbergpark.

The first premiere of the new season takes place on September 3: Roberto Ciulli and Maria Neumann perform "Der kleine Prinz" by Antione de Saint-Exupéry. The production of Pier Paolo Pasolini, "Schweinestall" will have its premiere on September 13/14. It was directed by Friederike Felbeck, Roberto Ciulli's longtime directorial collaborator.

As part of the festival "Mülheim - offene Stadt", theaters from Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan will be giving guest performances at the Theater an der Ruhr from October 15 - 24. For his artistic work and his humanistic commitment, Roberto Ciulli receives the great cultural award of the "Sparkassen-Stiftung zur Förderung rheinischen Kulturguts".

The production of William Shakespeare, "Der Kaufmann von Venedig" has its premiere on November 29 in the Stadthalle Mülheim.

In cooperation with the Evangelische Akademie Mülheim, the Theater an der Ruhr is organizing the conference "Bündnis für Kultur? Roberto Ciulli and the Director of the Theater and Film Department of the Iraqi Ministry of Culture sign a declaration of intent in Baghdad for a mutual theater exchange between the Theater an der Ruhr and Iraqi theater groups.

From April 10 to 26, the Theater an der Ruhr will be touring with Peter Handke's "Kaspar" in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

On May 18, the premiere with orchestra of Bertolt Brecht, "Die Dreigroschenoper" will take place.

From September 22 - 30, Theaterlandschaft Iran will feature four Iranian theaters and a Tazieh group at the Theater an der Ruhr in Raffelbergpark.

Maria Neumann's Woyzeck adaptation "Der Mond ist wie ein blutig Eisen" premieres on October 12. The premiere of Carlo Goldoni's "Die Trilogie der schönen Ferienzeit" takes place on October 31 at the Stadthalle Mülheim.

The month of November is dedicated to the festival Twenty Years of Theater an der Ruhr. Theaters from Holland, Iraq, Italy, Yugoslavia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan give guest performances at the Theater an der Ruhr. On November 25, the Gordana Kosanovic Acting Prize 2001 is awarded to Narges Hashempour (Iran) and Anna Mele (Turkmenistan).

Friederike Felbeck's production of Wallace Shawn's "Marie und Bruce" premieres on December 15 at Theater an der Ruhr in Raffelbergpark.

On December 6 and 7, the Mexican Perro Teatro will be at the Theater an der Ruhr with "Lorca sin Titulo" based on Federico Garcia Lorca's "Das Publikum und Komödie ohne Titel". The director is David Hevia, a longtime actor at Theater an der Ruhr.

From January 21 - 26, "Unruhr", the 1st festival of youth theater groups at theaters in the Ruhr region, will take place at the Theater an der Ruhr in Raffelbergpark. It is created in cooperation with Theater Dortmund, Schauspielhaus Bochum, Westfälisches Landestheater Castrop-Rauxel, Schauspiel Essen, Theater Hausen and Ringlokschuppen e.V. Mülheim/Ruhr.

In cooperation with the Iranian Ministry of Culture, Roberto Ciulli is working on a production of Federico Garcia Lorca's "Bernarda Albas Haus" in Tehran. The premiere is on January 27 as part of the Fadjr Festival. In Stockholm, Roberto Ciulli is honored with the Edita and Ira Hiroshima Foundation Award. The prize is for his commitment to international cultural work and intercultural understanding.

On February 22, Susanna Enk's production of Friedrich Schiller's "Die Räuber" will premiere at Theater an der Ruhr in Raffelbergpark. It is the first production at Theater an der Ruhr to work exclusively with guests.

Roberto Ciulli and the Theater an der Ruhr receive the World Theater Day 2002 Award of the International Theater Institute ITI e.V.
From March 24 to April 5, the Theater an der Ruhr performs "Antigone", "Kaspar", "Der kleine Prinz" and "Die Dreigroschenoper" in the Al-Rashid - Theater Bagdad (Iraq).

On April 18, the premiere of "Simone Thoma spielt Ätna" by Christine Sohn will take place at the Theater an der Ruhr in Raffelbergpark.

"Bernarda Albas Haus" by Federico Garcia Lorca, the co-production of the Dramatic Arts Center, Tehran and Theater an der Ruhr, will have its German premiere on April 28 at Stadthalle Mülheim. The ensemble will then give guest performances in Malmö, Stockholm, Cologne and Berlin.

On September 27 and 28, the first premiere of the new season takes place at the Theater an der Ruhr in Raffelbergpark: "Titus Andronicus" by William Shakespeare.

From October 11 to 29, the Theater an der Ruhr ensemble will be a guest at the Festival Internacional Cervantino in Guanajato and Mexico City with "Antigone," "Der kleine Prinz" and "Die Dreigroschenoper."

On November 21, "trip - Choreographisches Theater" by Wara Cajias will have its premiere at the Theater an der Ruhr in Raffelbergpark. It features a young ensemble of singers, dancers and actors.

On December 27, Paolo Magelli's production of Maxim Gorky's "Sommergäste" will premiere with the ensemble of the Theater an der Ruhr at the Stadthalle in Mülheim.

On February 20, David Hevia's production of Frank Wedekind's "Frühlings Erwachen" will premiere at the Theater an der Ruhr in Raffelbergpark. It is the third production at Theater an der Ruhr to work exclusively with guests.

On May 3, the Theater an der Ruhr in Raffelbergpark will host the return performance of Woody Allen's "God."

At the 22nd NRW- Theatertreffen in Aachen the production "Titus Andronicus" from the Theater an der Ruhr is awarded as best production.

"Wie hast du geschlafen?" - a theater project by Roberto Ciulli and Hans Peter Clahsen with patients of ward 15 of the Forensic Psychiatry of the Rheinische Kliniken Langenfeld has its premiere on July 3 in the sports hall of the Rheinische Kliniken Langenfeld.

On September 10, the premiere of "Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespeare in the production of David Hevia will take place in the Stadthalle Mülheim. It is the fourth production at the Theater an der Ruhr, which works exclusively with guests.

On October 16 and 17, the production "Die Wände (Les Paravents)" by Jean Genet will have its premiere at Theater an der Ruhr in Raffelbergpark. As part of the "Theaterlandschaften Seidenstraße", theaters from Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia and Iran will give guest performances at the Theater an der Ruhr from October 19-26, 2003. On October 26, the Theater an der Ruhr, together with the German Foreign Office, will host a matinee with Iraqi theater makers on the theme "Theater on Ruins?"

In January 2004, the Theater an der Ruhr gave its fourth guest performance at the Fadjr International Theater Festival in Tehran. The production "Titus Andronicus" by William Shakespeare was shown.

On March 19, 2004, Paolo Magelli's production of Johann Nestroy's "Häuptling Abendwind" will have its premiere with the ensemble of the Theater an der Ruhr.

On September 24 and 25, the production of "Dantons Tod" by Georg Büchner will have its premiere at the Theater an der Ruhr in Raffelbergpark.

Within the framework of the "Theaterlandschaften Seidenstraße", theaters from Tunisia, Iraq/Kurdistan Region, Iran, Italy and Oman will be giving guest performances at the Theater an der Ruhr from October 2 - 12, 2004.

On December 2, the world premiere of "Hier ist nicht Amerika" by Ralph Hammerthaler, staged by David Hevia, will take place at the FFT Düsseldorf. It is a co-production between the FFT and the Theater an der Ruhr. The play will premiere in Mülheim on February 22, 2005. It is the fifth production at Theater an der Ruhr to work exclusively with guests.

On March 04 and 05, the play "Es geht immer besser; Besser - Immer besser ..." A Dance Pleasure by Ödön von Horváth will premiere at the Theater an der Ruhr in Raffelbergpark.

As part of the "Theaterlandschaft Neues Europa", theaters from Poland, Latvia and Estonia will be giving guest performances at the Theater an der Ruhr from May 27 to June 4, 2005.

From June 10 to 18, 2005, the second conference on the future of Iraqi theater will take place at the Theater an der Ruhr. For one week, young Iraqi theater makers will discuss opportunities and the development of theater in their country. Two performances will be shown as part of the conference.

Roberto Ciulli's adaptation of the Horváth play "Es geht immer besser; Besser - Immer besser" receives the NRW Critics' Prize for the best production.

On September 23 and 24, 2005, the play "Tragödie ohne Totel/Dona Rosita oder die Sprache der Blumen" by Federico García Lorca will premiere at the Theater an der Ruhr in Raffelbergpark. It is a co-production with the RuhrTriennale

On October 26, 2005, the Theater im Marienbad/Freiburg will present the staged adaptation of the novel "Jugend ohne Gott" by Ödon von Horváth at the Theater an der Ruhr.

As part of the Melez Festival, "Danton'un Ölümü" by Georg Büchner will premiere at the Jahrhunderthalle Bochum on October 30, 2005. The co-production of the Istanbul Municipal Stages and the Theater an der Ruhr will be performed at the Theater an der Ruhr on November 01, 2005.

The ensemble of the Theater an der Ruhr will travel to Istanbul from November 8 - 17, 2005 with five productions of the repertoire for a work show.

On February 16 and 17, Arthur Miller's "Die Stunde Amerikas" will have its premiere at the Theater an der Ruhr in a production by Roberto Ciulli.

7 "Weiße Nächte" , 10 plays, 1 theater festival and 7,000 spectators... For the third time, the theater festival "Weiße Nächte" went successfully over the green stage from August 11-13 and 17-20. Even the bad weather conditions could not keep theater enthusiasts from Mülheim and the surrounding area from making a pilgrimage to Raffelbergpark for the seven "Weiße Nächte". Like last year, the play "Der Dreigroschenoper" was the crowd puller: More than 2,000 spectators let themselves be enchanted by the acting ensemble acting with relish.

Roberto Ciulli receives the award of the Kulturrat NRW for special merits in cultural policy.

On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, Theater an der Ruhr invites theaters from Iran, Iraq, Central Asia, Tunisia, Turkey, Serbia, Morocco as well as Hungary, Lithuania and Slovenia to Mülheim an der Ruhr.

From July 20 - 22 and 26 - 29, "Weiße Nächte" will take place for the fourth time in Raffelbergpark. For the first time there will be an open-air premiere with Brecht's production of "Der kaukasische Kreidekreis" by the Iranian group New Experience under the direction of Ashgar Khalili.

Habib Koité und Bamada eröffnen am 13. September die neue Weltmusikreihe am Theater an der Ruhr und bilden den Auftakt für die vom 14. bis zum 16.9. stattfindende Theaterlandschaft Mali, in deren Rahmen Yaya Coulibaly und seine Marionettenspielergruppe "Sogolon" drei traditionelle malische Stücke zeigen.

On October 17 and 18, Ad de Bont's "Mutter Afrika" directed by Oliver Krietsch-Matzura, a joint production of the Theater an der Ruhr and the Forum Freies Theater (FFT) from Düsseldorf, will premiere in Mülheim.

"Theaterlandschaft Iran" - Torture - Escape - Legends: From November 15 to 18, three outstanding Iranian productions are guests at the Theater an der Ruhr. The opening concert will be performed by Maryam Akhondi and her band Banu.

From December 7 to 9, 2007, the Second "ZauberTheaterfestival" will take place at the Theater an der Ruhr. Three comedies by Eduardo De Filippo will premiere at the Theater an der Ruhr from December 13 to 15: "Verrückt", "Diese Gespenster" and "Die Kunst der Komödie".

World premiere of Christine Sohn's play "Gold" on February 7 and 8 at Theater an der Ruhr. Theater an der Ruhr participates in the NRW-Theatertreffen in Bonn with William Shakespeare's "King Lear".

August Strindberg's "Der Vater" directed by Thomas Peter Goergen, premieres April 4 and 5 at Theater an der Ruhr.

The season opens on August 7 with the "Weiße Nächte" in Raffelbergpark. The prelude is the city anniversary project "Mülheim am Meer" for which numerous committed Mülheimers have embarked on a journey into their past.

Roberto Ciulli and the ensemble of the Theater an der Ruhr have jointly developed a play on the theme of remembering: "Wer hat meine Schuhe vergraben? Eine Stadt erinnert sich". In addition, Raffelbergpark and the theater will become a "labyrinth of memories." Installations, exhibitions, readings and films enable a novel journey of discovery into Mülheim's history(s).

From its repertoire, the Theater an der Ruhr presents six productions, including Wilhelm Genaziono's "Der Hausschrat", "Die Kunst der Komödie" by Eduardo De Filippo and, on the final evening, "Die Dreigroschenoper". After the Iranian "Kreidekreis" production last year, this year the Baghdadi Mohtarf Theater is presenting a play based on the same material: "Baghdadi Circle of Passion".

For the first time, the "Weißen Nächte" will also feature films by Mülheim filmmakers, including Rainer Komer's documentary "Wer bezahllte Hitler?", films by Werner Neekes and an overview of "Five Decades of City (Advertising) Films". The musical program will feature groups such as Sax Allemande with Bach's Goldberg Variations for saxophone, the Mülheim Plucked String Orchestra and the choir of St. Peter's Church in Mülheim.

From September 3 to 5, six of the best productions of this year's Tehran Fadr Festival will be guests in Mülheim an der Ruhr. On September 18, Enda Walsh's "Chatroom," a joint production of the Theater an der Ruhr and the Düsseldorf FFT directed by Oliver Krietsch-Matzura, will premiere at Raffelberg.

With "Te fällt auf die Welt", an art action by and with Anne Tismer and students from the Gustav Heinemann School in Mülheim will be premiered on October 14.

On November 27 and 28, the German-language premiere of Tennessee's "Treppe nach oben" directed by Roberto Ciulli will have its premiere in Mülheim.

From December 5-7, the third "ZauberTheaterfestival" will take place at the Theater an der Ruhr.
On December 14, Maria Neumann premieres Andersen's "Däumelinchen".

Premiere of Robert Musil's "Die Verwirrungen des Zöglings Törless" directed by Albrecht Hirche Premiere on January 15 and 16.

On February 27, "Sage mir Muse..." will be the prologue to the 2010 Capital of Culture project Odysee Europa. During this long night of the Odyssey, the theater maker, audience members and surprise guests will simultaneously read the 12,110 verses of the Odyssey in six theaters

On March 20 and 21, Ewald Palmetshofer's "Helden" directed by Thomaspeter Goergen will have its premiere at the Theater an der Ruhr. On March 22, the Förderverein of the Theater an der Ruhr awards the Gordana Kosanovic Actor Prize to Herbert Fritsch. The laudatory speech is given by Rüdiger Schaper.

From July 1 to 5, "Die Weißen Nächte" will again take place in Raffelbergpark. This year's guest is the Diyabarkir City Theater with the productions "Mala Dinan" and "Yasar ne heye, ne ji tuneye".

Participants are Thomas Fraps and Pit Hartling with "Metamagicum II", Markus Zink with "Schrott", Manuel Muerte and Silvana Busoni with their "Metaphysisches Kabinett", Wittus Witt with a lecture on "Der Poet der Zauberkunst - Hofzinser" as well as Helge Thun with "Der Schlawiner": In the context of this festival the "Johann-Nepomuk-Hofzinser-Gedächtnisring" was awarded to the magician Magic Christian on December 12. Premiere of the "Traumnovelle" by Arthur Schnitzler directed by Simone Thoma on December 16.

In the series "Der Salon" Helmut Schäfer will talk with Prof. Dr. Micha Brumlik about Sigmund Freud - The Thinker of the 20th Century on January 30.

The premiere of "Peter Pan & The lost Boys" based on the novel by James M. Barry and adapted by Anna Malunat and Sven Schlötcke will take place on February 7.

On September 21 and 22, William Shakespeare's "Was ihr wollt" directed by Karin Neuhäuser will have its premiere at Raffelbergpark.

On October 19 and 20, "Kaos" based on motifs and texts by Luigi Pirandello and directed by Roberto Ciulli will have its premiere at the Theater an der Ruhr.

The third and final RAUSCH begins with the premiere of “Ich Antonin Artaud - Der wilde Harlekin (DEA)”, directed by Roberto Ciulli. Subbotnik stages “Was weg ist, ist weg (UA)”. Heinrich von Kleist's “Amphitryon”, directed by Philipp Preuss, also premieres.

RAUSCH 3 is coming to an end and with it the theme of this season. In the coming season, there will be another theme to work on in terms of content.
