Theater an der Ruhr organizes the festival series "Internationale Theaterlandschaften" for the first time, presenting one theater country over three years. Foundation of the Association for the Promotion of the Theater an der Ruhr. The association endows an acting prize bearing the name of Gordana Kosanovic, who was so important for the aesthetics and spirit of the theater and who died so young.

Theater an der Ruhr organizes a series of readings "Literaturszene Polen" in preparation for the 1st year of "Theaterlandschaft Polen" in May 1989. March For the first time since 1945, the Turkish State Theater gives a guest performance in the FRG. The Theater an der Ruhr organizes a tour of the performance of Yüksel Pazarkaya's "Mediha" in various cities of North Rhine-Westphalia. The second awarding of the "Gordana-Kosanovic-Schauspielerpreis" in Belgrade by the Friends of Theater an der Ruhr goes to Veronika Drolc and Miki Manoilovic. Invitation to the 23rd Belgrade International Theater Festival "Bitef". "Kaspar" is awarded the Grand Prix and the 1st Audience Award, "Die Bakchen" receives the 3rd Audience Award. The newspaper "Politika" awards Roberto Ciulli the prize for the best direction for "Kaspar".
Premiere of Heinrich von Kleist's "Das Käthchen von Heilbronn" in Ljubljana. This is the first time that a German theater has staged a premiere abroad. The German-language performance was a co-production with the cultural center "Cankarjev Dom".
Guest performance in the GDR: "Presentation of Art and Culture from NRW" in Leipzig with "Der kroatische Faust" and "Kaspar".
1990
As in the previous year, the Theater an der Ruhr organizes a guest performance of the Turkish State Theater with "Sokollu" by Yilmaz Karakoyunlu in North Rhine-Westphalia.

1991
The Roma Theater Pralipe from Skopje brings with great success the premieres "Ratavle Bijava" (Blood Wedding) by Federico Garcia Lorca and "Marat/ Sade" by Peter Weiss in the production of Rahim Burhan in the Theater im Raffelbergpark and makes guest appearances in numerous cities in the Federal Republic as well as in Holland and Switzerland. This is the first step towards a long-term cooperation between Theater Pralipe and Theater an der Ruhr. For the second time, Theater an der Ruhr will give a guest performance in Warsaw. Here, with a total of 5 productions, "Clowns die Bakchen", "Leonce und Lena", "Die Dreigroschenoper" and "Der kroatische Faust", a showcase of works takes place, giving the Polish public deeper insights into the overall work of the Theater an der Ruhr.
For the third time, the Theater an der Ruhr is organizing a guest performance of the Turkish State Theater in North Rhine-Westphalia. All seven performances of Aziz Nesin's play "Yasar, lebt er nun oder lebt er nicht" are sold out.
Third year "Theaterlandschaft Polen" : groups from Gardzienice, Gdansk, Poznan and Warsaw will be guests. In addition, the "Solidarnosc" exhibition by Jerzy Kalina will be held in the underground car park of the City-Center Mülheim.

The "Initiativkreis Ruhrgebiet" supports the international festival "Theater für Europa - Entdeckungen", to which the Theater an der Ruhr has invited two productions from the Slovenian Theater Maribor, Goethe's "Faust I" and "Faust II" as well as Shakespeare's "Hamlet" and Genet's "Die Zofen" from the Moscow Satirikon Theater. The performances are very well received by the audience and the press. The Art Porter Jazz Quartet from Chicago gives several concerts at the Theater im Raffelbergpark with great success. The first European Theater Seminar is supported by the Ministry of Culture of North Rhine-Westphalia. Under the direction of Helmut Schäfer, the seminar brings together an international group of theater people, scholars and journalists on the topic of "Theater nach dem Verfall der Geschichte". The results of the conference will be published in 1994 in a bilingual volume by felidae-Verlag. Third awarding of the "Gordana-Kosanovic-Schauspielerpreis" by the Friends of the Theater an der Ruhr to Kirsten Dene. With continued support from the Ministry of Culture NRW, the Roma Theater Pralipe can continue to work in Mülheim under the umbrella of the Theater an der Ruhr.
1992
At the invitation of the Theater an der Ruhr, the Belgrade theater "Jugoslovensko Dramsko Pozoriste" gives a guest performance in Mülheim with the production of the Macedonian director Slobodan Unkovski's "L'llusion comique". The performance is a great success and becomes a symbol of understanding in a time of fierce political conflict.
Invitation to the ninth International Theater Festival Caracas with "Dantons Tod", "Kaspar" and "Tote ohne Begräbnis". June/July The Theater an der Ruhr undertakes a five-week tour of South America with "Dantons Tod," "Kaspar" and "Tote ohne Begräbnis." Stops on the tour include Santiago de Chile, Quito/Ecuador, San Jose/Costa Rica, the International Theater Festival Mexico. This tour is one of the largest and most successful events of the Goethe-Institut.
"Kultur gegen Gewalt" is the name of the initiative of the Theater an der Ruhr with the Roma Theater Pralipe, which calls for protest against the increasing xenophobia in Germany. Under the motto "Die Zigeuner sind wieder da", Theater Pralipe shows its performance "Ratvale Bijava" (Blood Wedding) in Romanes from November '92 to January '93 in about 15 cities in the Federal Republic, including Halle, Hoyerswerda, Lübeck, Magdeburg, Munich, Rostock. The "Bewegung eines anderen Deutschland" calls for solidarity and discussion. Discussions with politicians and the audience will take place after each performance. The spontaneously organized tour is supported by the Ministry of Culture of North Rhine-Westphalia and is very well received by the population and the media.
1993
Within the festival 1. year "Theaterlandschaft Russland" guest in Mülheim different theater groups from Moscow and St. Petersburg.
At the request of the Minister of Culture and the General Director of the Turkish State Theater, Roberto Ciulli is leading a three-week theater seminar in Istanbul, which is intended to contribute to the renewal of the content and structure of the Turkish State Theater.
For the second time, the Theater an der Ruhr is organizing the international festival "Theater für Europa -Entdeckungen" in Mülheim on behalf of the "Initiativkreis Ruhrgebiet" with contributions from Cameroon, Chile, Italy and Turkey.
1994
For the first time, a co-production between a German theater and the State Theater of Turkey is taking place. With actors from various cities in Turkey and the director Müge Gürman, Roberto Ciulli is working on "Bernarda Alba's Haus" by F. G. Lorca in Turkish in Mülheim.
Premiere of "Bernarda Albas Haus" at the Stadthalle Mülheim. Until the end of April, the Turkish ensemble will give guest performances in more than 20 cities in the Federal Republic. The production will then be incorporated into the repertoire of the State Theater of Turkey.
1995
Premiere of Bertolt Brecht's "Im Dickicht der Städte" in German and Turkish at the Ringlokschuppen at Schloß Broich. After Roberto Ciulli's production of "Bernarda Alba's House" last year, in which only actors from the Turkish State Theater took part, the cooperation is to be intensified in the performance of "Im Dickicht der Städte". Both Turkish and German actors will be involved. The translation will not be solved technically, but scenically. The performance will be included in the repertoire of the Theater an der Ruhr. Multilingual performances are to become a natural part of German theater schedules.
1996
Tour through Sweden (Malmö, Gothenburg, Gävle, Stockholm) with "Im Dickicht der Städte". In Stockholm the performance is shown at the opening of the symposium "European Theatre Exchange" with Roberto Ciulli and Helmut Schäfer as speakers.
Guest performance at the "Dionysia" Festival in Veroli and Rome with "Im Dickicht der Städte".
For the fifth time, the sponsoring association of the Theater an der Ruhr awards the "Gordana-Kosanovic-Schauspielerpreis". This year's prize winner is Angela Winkler. The guest is the dancer Wilson Pico from Ecuador.
For his special services to the common good, Roberto Ciulli is awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany by President Roman Herzog. The citation states: As co-founder and as artistic director of the Theater an der Ruhr, he has shaped the city of Mülheim/ Ruhr into a European place of theater. Through the "Internationale Theaterlandschaften" initiated by him, the richness of foreign cultures is brought closer to the German audience.
1997
Guest performance at the festival in Belgrade with "Die Schlangenhaut" and "Der Kirschgarten".
On October 10, 1997, the Theater an der Ruhr in Raffelbergpark is ceremoniously reopened. The former Solbad was the seat of the Mülheim theater until 1994 and was renovated with funds from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the city of Mülheim. "Theaterlandschaft Post-Jugoslawien" in the Theater im Raffelbergpark, productions from the republics of Yugoslavia, Croatia, Bosnia and Slovenia are shown. For the first time, the Mulokot Theater from Karshi, Uzbekistan, and the Taliá Theater from Cairo, Egypt, give guest performances at the Theater im Raffelbergpark as part of the project "Die Seidenstraße".
1998
As part of the project "Die Seidenstrasse", a unique concert with Sufi musicians of the Ne'matollahi order from Isfahan, Iran will take place at the Theater im Raffelbergpark. Symposium in cooperation with the Evangelische Akademie Mülheim an der Ruhr. "Als Gott und Mensch sich auf der Seidenstraße trafen".
From March 26 to April 12, the 6th Festival Iberoamericano de Teatro de Bogota will take place in Bogotá, Colombia. As the only German theater, the Theater an der Ruhr is represented with four plays: Chekhov's "Der Kirschgarten," Moliere's "Don Juan," Brecht's "Im Dickicht der Städte" and "Teatro Comico" based on motifs by Carlo Goldoni.
Following the guest performance of the Theater an der Ruhr in Colombia, Malgorzata Bartula, Simone Thoma and David Hevia will conduct a summer seminar for acting and directing at the "Casa del Teatro".
To open the season, the Theater an der Ruhr will host the international theater festival Theaterlandschaft Seidenstraße from September 11 to 22 in Raffelbergpark. Groups from Iran, Uzbekistan and Syria are invited. For the first time since the Islamic Revolution in 1979, theater groups from the Islamic Republic will come to Germany as part of an exchange between Theater an der Ruhr and Iran. Gralf-Edzard Habben is a jury member of the International Festival for Experimental Theater in Cairo. Roberto Ciulli is honored for his special services to intercultural theater work.
The Theater an der Ruhr is invited to the International Theater Festival Mess '98 in Sarajevo with the production "Der Kirschgarten" and the Roma Theater Pralipe with "Yerma". Theater an der Ruhr gives a guest performance of "Pinocchio Faust" at the El-Salaam Theater in Cairo, Egypt. The Roma Theater Pralipe receives the Lorca Award of the International Theater Institute of the Mediterranean in Fuentevaqueros, Spain. At the same time, the Theater an der Ruhr receives a certificate for its commitment against xenophobia.
Symposium in cooperation with the Protestant Academies of Iserlohn and Mülheim an der Ruhr. "Faust auf der Seidenstraße. Die Sehnsucht nach dem west-östlichen Divan." Theater an der Ruhr is the first German company since the Islamic Revolution to participate in the 17th Fadjr International Theater Festival in Tehran. The German Theater Academy Almaty from Kazakhstan plays Ingrid Lausund's "Glücksfelder". At the invitation of the Theater an der Ruhr, the Yugoslav Dramatic Theater from Belgrade will perform Biljana Srbljanovic's "Belgrade Trilogy" and the Center for Cultural Decontamination's "Eva Braun" monologue in Mülheim an der Ruhr between June 6 and 9. As part of the Author's Theater Festival in Karshi, Uzbekistan, Kafka's "Ein Bericht für eine Akademie" with Ferhade Feqi is performed in Turkish for the first time. For the second time David Hevia conducts a summer seminar for actors and directors in cooperation with Casa del Teatro in Bogota, Colombia.
From September 13 to October 2, groups from China, Iran and Turkey will be presented as part of "Theaterlandschaft Seidenstraße". Awarding of the Gordana Kosanovic Actor Prize 1999 to Slobodan Bestic (Belgrade). January/ February 26 - February 5: For the second time, Theater an der Ruhr is a guest at the 18th International Theater Festival Fadjr in Tehran. The festival presents "Kaspar" by Peter Handke, "Bis die Jahrtausendwende uns scheidet" by Manuel Vázquez Montalbán and "Schneewittchen" by the Brothers Grimm.

Within the framework of the 2nd International Theater Festival in Karshi, Uzbekistan, ensemble members of Theater an der Ruhr in cooperation with Theater Mulokot are conducting the 2nd seminar on the creation of a multinational Central Asian theater.
As part of the festival "Mülheim - offene Stadt", theaters from Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan will be giving guest performances at the Theater an der Ruhr from October 15 - 24. For his artistic work and his humanistic commitment, Roberto Ciulli receives the great cultural award of the "Sparkassen-Stiftung zur Förderung rheinischen Kulturguts".
2001
On the occasion of the anniversary, the festival "10 years of Roma Theater Pralipe" with performances, discussions and the exhibition "Farben der Roma-Kinder" takes place at the Theater an der Ruhr. From 22 - 27 January, the Theater an der Ruhr will be a guest for the third time at the Fadjr International Theater Festival in Tehran, Iran. "Antigone" after Sophocles and "Der kleine Prinz" by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry will be shown.
From February 12 - 17, Theater an der Ruhr will be guesting at the Teatro Santa Fe in Mexico City with "Der kleine Prinz" by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and "Bis die Jahrtausendwende uns scheidet" by Manuel Vazquez Montalban.
Roberto Ciulli and the Director of the Theater and Film Department of the Iraqi Ministry of Culture sign a declaration of intent in Baghdad for a mutual theater exchange between the Theater an der Ruhr and Iraqi theater groups.
From April 10 - 26, the Theater an der Ruhr will be giving guest performances of Peter Handke's "Kaspar" in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
From September 22 - 30, "Theaterlandschaft Iran" with four Iranian theaters and a Tazieh group will take place at the Theater an der Ruhr in Raffelbergpark.
The month of November is dedicated to the festival 20 years Theater an der Ruhr. Theaters from Holland, Iraq, Italy, Yugoslavia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan give guest performances at the Theater an der Ruhr. On November 25, the Gordana Kosanovic Acting Prize 2001 is awarded to Narges Hashempour (Iran) and Anna Mele (Turkmenistan).
On December 6 and 7, the Mexican Perro Teatro will be at the Theater an der Ruhr with "Lorca sin Titulo" based on Federico Garcia Lorca's "The Audience and Comedy Without a Title". The director is David Hevia, a longtime actor at Theater an der Ruhr.
2002
In cooperation with the Iranian Ministry of Culture, Roberto Ciulli is working on a production of Federico Garcia Lorca's "Bernarda Albas Haus" in Tehran. The premiere is on January 27 as part of the Fadjr Festival. In Stockholm, Roberto Ciulli is honored with the Edita and Ira Hiroshima Foundation Award. The prize is awarded for his commitment to international cultural work and intercultural understanding. March/April Roberto Ciulli and the Theater an der Ruhr receive the World Theater Day 2002 Award of the International Theater Institute iti e.V. From March 24 to April 5, the Theater an der Ruhr gives a guest performance of "Antigone", "Kaspar", "Der kleine Prinz" and "Die Dreigroschenoper" at the Al-Rashid Theater Baghdad (Iraq). "Bernarda Albas Haus" by Federico Garcia Lorca, the co-production of the Dramatic Arts Center, Tehran and the Theater an der Ruhr, will have its German premiere on April 28 at the Stadthalle Mülheim. Afterwards, the ensemble will give guest performances in Malmö, Stockholm, Cologne and Berlin.
From May 15 to 17, the ensemble of the Theater an der Ruhr will be a guest at the Transfusion Festival in Stockholm with Peter Handke's "Kaspar".
As part of the "Theaterlandschaft Seidenstraße", theaters from Egypt, Iraq, Iran and Tunisia will be giving guest performances at the Theater an der Ruhr from September 15-21, 2002.
From October 11 to 29, the ensemble of the Theater an der Ruhr will be a guest at the Festival Internacional Cervantino in Guanajato and Mexico City with "Antigone, der kleine Prinz" and "Die Dreigroschenoper".
2003
As part of the "Theaterlandschaften Seidenstraße", theaters from Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia and Iran will be giving guest performances at the Theater an der Ruhr from October 19 - 26, 2003. On October 26, the Theater an der Ruhr, together with the German Foreign Office, will host a matinee with Iraqi theater makers on the theme "Theater auf Trümmern?".
2004
In January 2004, the Theater an der Ruhr gave its fourth guest performance at the Fadjr International Theater Festival in Tehran. The production "Titus Andronicus" by William Shakespeare was shown.
Within the context of the Theaterlandschaften Seidenstraße, theaters from Tunisia, Iraq/Kurdistan Region, Iran, Italy and Oman will be giving guest performances at the Theater an der Ruhr from October 2 - 12, 2004.
2005
As part of the "Theaterlandschaft Neues Europa", theaters from Poland, Latvia and Estonia will be giving guest performances at the Theater an der Ruhr from May 27 to June 4, 2005.
From June 10 to 18, 2005, the Theater an der Ruhr will host the second Conference on the future of Iraqi theater. For one week, young Iraqi theater makers will discuss opportunities and the development of theater in their country. Two performances will be shown as part of the conference.
As part of the Melez Festival, "Danton'un Ölümü" by Georg Büchner premiered at the Jahrhunderthalle Bochum on October 30, 2005. The co-production of the Istanbul Municipal Stages and the Theater an der Ruhr will be performed at the Theater an der Ruhr on November 01, 2005.
The ensemble of the Theater an der Ruhr will travel to Istanbul from November 8 - 17, 2005 with five productions of the repertoire for a work show.
2006
On the occasion of the "Weißen Nächte", the group New Experience from Isfahan gives a guest performance of Asghar Khalili's production "Otrar Nameh" at the Theater an der Ruhr. August - November As part of the "Internationalen Theaterlandschaften" and the "Theaterlandschaft Neues Europa", theaters from Kazakhstan, Iraq, Tunisia, Iran, Turkey, Serbia, Morocco, Hungary, Lithuania and Slovenia are guests in Mülheim an der Ruhr.
2007
Theater an der Ruhr is taking part in the 25th International Fadjr Festival in Tehran for the fifth time from January 10 to 18 with Büchner's "Danton's Tod" and Shakespeare's "King Lear". Founded in 1983, it has since become the largest theater festival in the Middle East.
During the "Weiße Nächte" Brecht's "Der kaukasische Kreidekreis" by the Iranian group New Experience under the direction of Ashgar Khalili will have its premiere at Raffelbergpark.
"Theaterlandschaft Mali": The figure theater Sogolon is a guest in Mülheim with three productions.
As part of the "Theaterlandschaft Iran", the Mongo Theatre Group with "Dädalus und Ikarus", the Hossein Pakdel Group with "Torment Symphony" and the Cisti Theatre Group with "Leopard washes away his Polka Dots" will be guest performers at the Theater an der Ruhr.
2008
The group Shoreshvan from Dohuk shows Federico Garcia Lorca's "Bluthochzeit" directed by Ferhade Feqi as part of the "Theaterlandschaft Irak / Region Kurdistan".
As part of the "Weiße Nächte" 2008 in Raffelbergpark, the Baghdad Mohtaraf Theater with Awatif Naeem's Baghdadi Circle of Passion, directed by Aziz Khayoun, is a guest in Mülheim.
Six of the best productions of this year's Tehran International Fadjr Festival are visiting Mülheim as part of "Theaterlandschaft Iran"; plays between tradition and modernity will be shown.

Continuation of the concert series on March 18 and 19 with a special guest performance by the group Rajean Marie, performing the traditional Malagasy Hira Gasy.
Cameroonian Coco Mbassi, dubbed the "Tracy Chapman of Africa" by the press because of her impressive soul voice, makes a guest appearance in Mülheim on April 29.
To conclude the "Klanglandschaft Afrika", the acapella trio Insingizi from Zimbabwe and South Africa will give a guest performance at the Theater an der Ruhr.
From October 8 to 17, 2010, two Theaterlandschaften will take place at once: The Tiyatro Oyunevi from Istanbul opens the Theater Landscape Turkey on October 8 with its production "Warten" and shows "Ein letztes Mal" on October 9, the Theater Oyun Deposu presents "Hässliches Menschlein" at the end on October 11.
On October 14, the Southern Africa theater landscape begins with the play "Ten Bush" by the market Theatre from Johannesburg, followed by "Egoli," a performance by the State Theatre from Pretoria on October 15. The finale on October 17 will be "Zwei Verlorene in einer schmutzigen Nacht" by Teatro Galagalzul from Mozambique.

Habib Koité, Afel Bocoum and Oliver Mtukudsi, three stars of the African guitar tradition, will give a collaborative concert in Mülheim on November 2.

Justin Vali and the Ny Malagasy Orkestra perform at the Theater an der Ruhr to close the 2010/2011 "Klanglandschaften".
On October 10, the Tuareg musician Bombino opens the "Klanglandschaft Afrika & Orient" 2011, which is organized in cooperation with the NRW Kultursekretariat and WDR 3. With "Bridge back home" by the "Al Fawanees Theatre Group" from Jordan, the "Theaterlandschaft Arabien" 2011/2012 opens on October 28.
This will be followed on October 29 by "Camp," a production by the Experimental Theatre Group from Damascus. At the end of the series, the Al Harah Theatre Company from Bethlehem will present its play "Confinement":
Performance by Trio Khoury & Guillaume Robert in Mülheim on october 31. The concert by the Turkish and French musicians will be broadcast live by WDR 3.

The Turkish musician Birol Topaloglu, one of the most important representatives of Black Sea music, will perform in Mülheim on December 1, opening the Scene Istanbul series of events, which offers a thoroughly Turkish-language cultural program of theater and concert.
On December 18 and 19, the Theater an der Ruhr, supported by its sponsoring association, presents the Turkish Shadow Theater with the play "Karagöz."
2012
The Altidan Sonra Tiyatro shows "Fail-I Müsterek / Collective Perpetrators", a play that deals with the question of perpetration and complicity of a society that looks on and does nothing, and in the end wants to sweep what happened under the carpet. Performance by Burkinabe singer and drummer Koto Brawa on January 12.
The well-known Turkish ensemble Kardes Türküler will perform together with Armenian-born musician Arto Tuncboyaciyan at the Mülheimer Stadthalle on February 28.
The Algerian singer Houria Aichi is a guest at the Theater an der Ruhr.
With a song evening and an a cappella musical, the group Abibigroma of the Ghanaian National Theater inspires the Mülheim audience.
On October 9, the Soundscape Africa & Orient, a series of events in cooperation with the NRW Cultural Secretariat and WDR 3, opens with a concert by the Trio Al Jaramani.
On October 24, "El Teatro" from Tunisia will kick off the "Theaterlandschaft Neues Arabien" with "L'Isoloir." On October 25, Issam Bou Khaled from Lebanon will present "Maarch," the second part of his war trilogy. Three performances will take place on Oct. 27: "In spitting distance" - A lecture-performance by Taher Najib, Palestine, Banafsaj, third part of the war trilogy, by Issam Bou Khaled, Lebanon and "It happened" by Damascus Theatre Laboratory from Syria. 28.10. With "Sabra," a musical theater piece by Tunisian director and author Meriam Bousselmi, this year's "Theaterlandschaft" ends on November 8.
On November 7, Nasreddine Chebli & Tatabil perform at the Theater an der Ruhr.
The musicians Göksel Baktagir & Sumru Agiryüruyen make a guest appearance in Mülheim as part of "Szene Istanbul".
2013
Hamid Matabassem & Sepideh Raissadat from Iran, continued the "Klanglandschaft" with their concert on January 20.
The theater Kumbaraci 50 from Istanbul opens the theater play series "Szene Istanbul" on January 25 with "Based on a True Incident" and shows the following day with "Barzo and Preserve" the second of four productions in this series.
On February 15 and 16, the Tim Winsé Trio & Étienne Minoungou from Burkina Faso will delight the Mülheim audience not only with their concert, but also with the music theater piece "Le roi de la danse," which focuses on the story of Muhammad Ali.
Kumbaraci 50 will perform "Der Rythmus der Liebe" at the Theater an der Ruhr on March 3. On March 22, the Arto Tuncboyaciyan Trio will give a guest performance at the Stadthalle Mülheim.
On April 11, Kumbaraci 50 will close the Istanbul scene for the time being with "Die niemals endende, heitere Geschichte der unglücklichen Geschwister".
Together with our proven cooperation partners NRW-Kultursekretariat and WDR 3, Theater an der Ruhr continues the successful event series "Klanglandschaften" Africa & Orient. To kick off the series, the "Trio Hewar" will perform together with the "Morgenland Allstar Band" in the Stadthalle Mülheim.
From November 1 to 6, the theater participates with "Kaspar" and "Woyzeck" at the Festival International du Théâtre de Bejaia 2013 in Algeria.
From November 22 to 24, 5 theaters from Algeria and Tunisia will give guest performances at the Theater an der Ruhr as part of the "Theaterlandschaft Neues Arabien".
The "Theaterlandschaft Neues Arabien" continues from December 12 to 15 with 4 guest performances by Lebanese groups.
On December 17, the Algerian singer Karima Naygt continues the series "Klanglandschaft Afrika & Orient" with a concert at the Theater an der Ruhr.
2014
The "Prinzenwochenende" begins on January 31, when Roberto Ciulli's Turkish, Spanish and German productions of Saint-Exupéry's "Der kleine Prinz" will be shown for three consecutive days. The prelude is the Bitiyatro, Istanbul with Küçük Prens.

Pélagie Alima, François Alima & Aimé Mama from Cameroon give a concert at Theater an der Ruhr on March 25. One day later, the independent "Theaterlabor OTHNI", which is one of the important theater centers in the Cameroonian capital Yaoundé, will show scenes from Schiller's "Die Räuber" | "Nangaboko! - Brigands!", rewritten and sharpened to fit current circumstances.
2015
From April 18 to 30, in 2015, the "Theaterlandschaft Südeuropa" will take place with theater groups from Italy, Spain and Greece. These performances will be accompanied by lectures, film screenings and discussions. On April 25, journalist Wolfgang Bauer will read from his book "Über das Meer - Mit Syrern auf der Flucht nach Europa", Navid Kermani will give a lecture on the situation of refugees in Lampedusa, and Miriam Fassbender will show her documentary film "Fremd" about two men who try to reach Europe from Mali in the hope of a better life.
The event kicks off on April 18 with a concert by the "Canzoniere Grecanico Salentiono" from Italy, organized by the NRW Cultural Secretariat, WDR 3 and the Theater an der Ruhr.
2017
The ensemble of Theater an der Ruhr is traveling to Tunis from March 24 - 29, 2017 with the production "Clowns im Sturm".
The "Theaterlandschaft Mittelmeer" will take place from April 21-29. Theater groups from Italy, Tunisia and Iraq are invited. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Italian duo Fratelli Mancuso.
2018
The theater gives a guest performance of "Peer Gynt" at the Théàtre National in Tunis.
The Theater an der Ruhr is invited to the "Mitem Festival" in Budapest. They show there in a double performance the productions "Clowns 2 ½" and "Clowns in the Storm".
Theaterlandschaft Mittelmeer will take place from April 26-30. The Theater an der Ruhr is once again offering artists from the southern Mediterranean a forum to take a stand with their own artistic projects and visions - on the social and political constitution of their society: Fadhel Jaibi will take a look at the desires, goals, utopias in post-revolutionary Tunisia with the world premiere of his project "Rêve(s)." The Lebanese Issam Bou Khaled tells in "Carnivorous" about a very special, Lebanese paranoia. In the exile Syrian production "X-Adra" seven former prisoners tell of the horrors of the Assad regime's dungeons, and the Iraqi production "Herbst" is about the incessant dying in the country. Finally, with "Ya Kebir," the exile Syrian collective Ma'louba, founded at the Theater an der Ruhr last year, presents its most recent work.
The production "Clowns 2 ½" is played in Naples.
The Theater an der Ruhr gives a guest performance in London with the production "Peer Gynt" by Henrik Ibsen. At the Arcola Theater Maria Neumann and Roberto Ciulli perform 4 shows en block.
The "Klanglandschaften" enter their twelfth year. With our partners the NRW Kultursekretariat and WDR3, the Theater an der Ruhr gains the Theater im Pumpenhaus in Münster as a new partner. In terms of content, the focus this year is clearly on Armenian and Kurdish music. We will open the concert series on October 16 with the great Naghash Ensemble. The popular Duisburg musician Cemîl Qoçgirî & AVÎAN Quartet (Jan 5, 2019) and Vardan Hovanissian & Emre Gültekin (March 16) will shed light on the complex musical traditions of the greater region between the Black Sea, Caspian Sea and Mediterranean Sea. As highlights we have placed two concerts in between, which could not be more different: The grandiose Guinean griot Ba Cissoko comes to the soundscapes on Nov. 26 with a special trio formation, and the wonderful Lavinia Mancusi puts Campanian musical traditions from the area around Naples at the center of her concert on Feb. 21.
The theater is invited to the festival in Tunis. On 9.12. they play there "Clowns unter Tage".
2019
The Italian performer and artist group Anagoor presents its four-hour production "Orestea". In Italian with German surtitles. The performance will be followed by a shared snack and conversation with Roberto Ciulli and Simone Derai. (A co-production of Centrale Fies, Teatro Metastasio di Prato, TPE - Teatro Piemonte Europa, Teatro Stabile del Veneto with the participation of Theater an der Ruhr, Mülheim an der Ruhr/Germany, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia).
The series "Klanglandschaften" opens with a concert by BKO, a quintet from Mali.
The production "Die Zofen" directed by Hakan Emre Ünal makes a guest appearance at the Theater an der Ruhr as part of the Istanbul scene.
Due to not granted visas for 2 musicians the concert of Mem Ararat & Friends has to be cancelled. A substitute concert of the musician Mehmet Atlı will take place at short notice.

A Kurdish concert by the Hunermend Dilovan Quintet will be performed as part of "Klanglandschaften".
The production "It felt empty when the heart went at first but it is alright now" by director Mehmet Ergen will be shown at Theater an der Ruhr as part of Scene Istanbul.
The Kurdish play "Tenê Ez" is performed in Mülheim (Scene Istanbul).
Due to the Corona crisis, the concert of Bassekou Kouyaté and his group Ngoni Ba will be cancelled on March 15.

The Theater an der Ruhr is performing “Unterwerfung/Gegen den Strich” in Wolfsburg, “Europa oder die Träume des Dritten Reichs” in Pullach, “Peer Gynt” in Landsberg and “Othello” in Verden.
As part of the exhibition “One must remember tomorrow - 40 years of Theater an der Ruhr”, the first date of a series of talks will take place at the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus. Navid Kermani and Roberto Ciulli will talk about theater and religion.
The series of talks at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus continues with the topics “There and back - Europpa and Turkey” and “Cultural policy and crisis”. Can Dündar and Claudia Roth will be among those in conversation with Roberto Ciulli.
