The Workshop idea

The big workshop

Strange foreign creatures have appeared at the Theater an der Ruhr. The Mülheim trash beasts originate from the abundance of our plastic-consumption-throwaway society and remind us of the "less" that should be the basis of our future decisions. The trash beasts are an attempt to deal creatively with the material of art. They are based on a simple wooden frame that is shouldered by means of a backpack system. High above the head of the person carrying it rises a large folding mouth, which, moved by a cord, snaps open and closed loudly. The surface is made of plastic garbage. "Everybody is a trash beast" - How about transforming the too-much of our consumption into art together? We invite you to join us in a workshop to create our alter egos out of art fabric.
