Old Testament, Translation Martin Luther
A performance by Maria Neumann. Musically accompanied by Markus Emanuel Zaja on the bass clarinet and the
saxophone.
The biblical story of Job is one of the great works of world literature. The story depicts a man who, despite tremendous experiences of misfortune, wrestles with God but does not lose his faith. Due to a wager of Satan with God, Job is put to the test. The test is to see if Job will hold on to his faith in God even in the greatest suffering.
"It was a very moving, intense performance that revealed great acting skill. The audience was thrown back on existential questions of meaning and the sacred space of the church became a place of art." Gnadenkirche, Wetzlar (mf)
