In Sibylle Berg's "Text für eine Person und mehrere Stimmen", a young woman takes stock of her life so far: once a member of a brutal girl gang, today peaceful yoga, once awkward smooching with boys at camp, today gender issues and the projects "sex" and "love" with men or women, once lofty ideals, today pragmatism. Longing is something you know mainly from movies, family a compound you put together yourself, and always lurking outside is the world, making demands and dictating images that are impossible to satisfy. Mercilessly and at the same time with great tenderness, Sibylle Berg portrays women in their early 20s who - vacillating between aggression and apathy, departure and detachment - are unsure what to fight for, and for whom the very word "we" causes justified skepticism.
