Die stille Karawane

Avi Kaiser // Sergio Antonino

"Man on the move: Some set out voluntarily, some are forced to leave by wars and catastrophes. In their new piece, Duisburg-based dancers and choreographers Avi Kaiser and Sergio Antonino explore being on the road with all its ups and downs. The piece takes place in an undefined in-between space - somewhere on the way to nowhere. The audience sits to the left and right in a long row, forming the road on which Kaiser and Antonio are traveling. The audience follows very closely and intensely how the couple suffers hunger and exhaustion, experiences rain and storm, catastrophe and rescue, but also how humor, human closeness and warmth give hope. The soundtrack ranges from baroque to bossa nova - a poetic and emotional roller coaster ride, with thoughts of what is currently happening in real life very close at hand. Kaiser and Antonio bring the escape stories very close to us, looking away is not possible: everything is happening right before our eyes." (Kultur West)
