Die Katze Eleonore
Caren Jeß
Staatsschauspiel Dresden
Cat pictures on Instagram mainly reflect the need for cuddling of their viewers. Eleonore reflects only herself, is self-sufficient - as a cat, not as a woman. And doesn't cuddle with anyone. However, it takes the claw-sharp powers of observation of Dresden playwright Caren Jeß for the animalistic and the human, the (animal) fabulous and the individualistic to come together in this monologue. We thus follow the metamorphosis of a real estate agent who one day decides to shed her old ego and shoulder an artificial fur "like a fainting animal that needed to be reanimated". She puts up with therapists in the process. She quite likes to play. Like the cat with the half-dead mouse.
