Die Kunst der Wunde

Katja Brunner won the Mülheim Drama Prize in 2013 for "von den beinen zu kurz". Ten years later, the Swiss author is nominated again for the "Stücke". "The Art of the Wound" is a loose sequence of small scenes and monologues linked by a major theme: society's grip on the individual. The play works through this theme in shifting tones and situations: Education and Relationship, Illness and Work, State and Family. "Look how they look, look how they look" - how the gaze of others determines our lives is an imposition. So is Katja Brunner's eloquent text, which puts its finger in our wounds.
