Judas
Lot Vekemans
In the midst of economic crises and disintegrating social ties, a powerful elite dominates the Roman Empire. The Jesus movement with its egalitarian demands is a reaction to this in its beginnings. Then it drifts away and seeks redemption in the afterlife. Judas, however, remains steadfast. Desperate, he betrays Jesus, hoping to save his movement's goals for this world. Forgiven. 2000 years later, Judas reappears. The economic crises, the disintegrating social ties and the rule of a small elite have remained. Judas' ambitions too. Here's to a new one!
