Every month, one stage takes center stage and presents one of its impressive performances at a particularly attractive price of a maximum of 15 euros.

Around 100,000 people, or one-sixth of Essen's urban population, received living benefits in 2022. Unfortunately, the city's social atlas, which is otherwise technically impressive, lacks data on households that were allowed to make inheritances of over 100,000 euros in the same period. In the temporal animation of the data from 2007-2021, the majority of the dark red fields on the map remain in the north of Essen. Of course, it would also be interesting to see where the fields for larger inheritances are geographically located.

Nora Abdel-Maksoud's hilarious comedy "Jeeps" sets out to "start a debate on envy". The birth lottery, i.e. the random milieu into which one is born, undergoes a decisive improvement in a not-too-distant Federal Republic, namely another round in the lottery. The inheritance of all citizens will be collected by the state and then drawn fairly with equal opportunities for all. Justice is feasible! The authority that has decades of experience in managing large crowds of people, the labour office, conveniently takes on the tough job of distributing the lottery tickets. And so two civil servants, one of whom is passionate about driving off-road vehicles, and two female customers meet in a highly charged situation. Law and justice are defended tooth and nail, considerable administrative expertise is demonstrated and ultimately everything is done to enforce the law.
