The Kings of Dubrock

The trio of Rica Blunck, Viktor Marek and Jacques Palminger has developed an idiosyncratic and highly entertaining musical genre: Dubrock, a hybrid of Dub-Reggae, New-Wave & Spoken Word. Dada dub, some say, but with depth! This music is grandiosely conceived, despite the desire for the unfinished, unpolished: the basses hum, the echo magnifies the beat like in the very best dub times. Palminger has the power not only to juggle with words with virtuosity, but also to look into the abyss as a matter of course - with lyrics that are as enchanting as they are close to madness. Jacques Palminger founded the legendary studio with Rocko Schamoni and
Heinz Strunck to found the legendary Studio Braun, whose voice Rica Blunck has been since 2000. Viktor Marek is part of the duo Sufi Dub Brothers and will be our guest at Raffelbergpark for the second time.
