Ödipus und das Geheimnis

Lecture and discussion with Michael B. Buchholz

Oedipus searches, his origins are unknown to him. Freud searches, he finds Oedipus. The male child desires his mother and fears his father. Oedipus unsuspectingly kills his father and just as unsuspectingly marries his own mother. This was foretold to him. He leaves those he believes to be his parents and yet his fate takes its course. After he realizes who he has killed, he becomes his own detective. He searches for the solution to a secret that he could not even formulate, because it is silent and he does not know that there is a secret that defines him. A lecture and discussion about the Oedipus complex from today's perspective.

Michael B. Buchholz is a German psychoanalyst, training and control analyst and professor at the International Psychoanalytic University Berlin.
