Staubfrau
Maria Milisavljević

Daughter, mother, grandmother: Maria Milisavljević interweaves three biographies in her new play. She uses these life stories to tell the story of how society has changed over the decades and how women have been able to emancipate themselves, but also where there are still literally enormous deficits - right up to the rape and killing of women. Layer by layer, Anna Stiepani's production also reveals which patterns are passed on from generation to generation, which imperatives women have internalised - to their own detriment. In this way, ‘Staubfrau’ becomes a highly precise and concrete social analysis.
