Lecture performance and walk by MFK Bochum

Located just a few hundred meters from the Kaiserberg junction, the Theater an der Ruhr could also be called the Theater an der Autobahn. The expansion of the so-called spaghetti junction between Duisburg and Mülheim has begun at the end of 2022, and a new truck rest area is also due to be built in the near future. The artist group MFK Bochum follows this trail: the visible and invisible connections between the theater and the roadside, the German Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan and the European transport network TEN-T as well as the walkers in Raffelbergpark and all the goods that find their way into our homes via the freeway. Since 2020, the group has been exploring freeways and walking along their edges. Beyond asphalt lanes, service stations and monumental bridge architectures that connect places, information, goods or people, MFK Bochum observe unexpected connections on their ongoing research, which they want to discuss with the Mülheim audience.
We recommend wearing sturdy shoes and equipping yourself with sun cream and a hat depending on the weather. Water and a small snack are provided.
