Antropka (UA)
Mixed-Reality-Theater
Maria Vogt
In the distant future, the all-female Antropka spaceship races through space in search of a new planet for humanity. But what began as a rescue mission becomes a prison of control and surveillance: the AI “Momi” regulates every aspect of life - from reproduction to death. When a male embryo is “accidentally” born and sex-matched, the perfect order is shaken. The AI begins to reprogram itself, and with it the spaceship is transformed into a place somewhere between nightmare and hope.
Antropka is a full-length mixed reality theater piece with true multiplayer co-presence. All spectators, performers and virtual objects exist together in a shared real-time space - a technical breakthrough compared to previous VR-theater forms. The audience sits in the middle of a 360° green screen stage and experiences how reality and virtuality merge through Quest 3 headsets in pass-through mode. The AI “Momi” responds live to audience questions using LLM technology. A visionary theater experience that dissolves the boundaries between stage, film and virtual reality, posing existential questions about identity, control and survival.

„It's a small step for the audience, but perhaps a big one for VR theater.“
Theater der Zeit
„It was truly a new theater experience for me.“
WDR Mosaik, Isabelle Stier
„The director skillfully uses modern VR technology to create exciting new experiences for the audience. The text, on the other hand, raises many important questions: about the nature, blessings, and curses of AI.“

„It is definitely worth seeing this special production. It thrives on unusual imagery and gives an impression of what the theater of the future could be like.”
