Katharina Stoll
born 1994 in Cologne, grew up in Berlin, works as a freelance director and author for theatre.
Katharina Stoll studied German literature and philosophy in Berlin and Istanbul. She later worked as an assistant director at the Schaubühne in Berlin and the Burgtheater in Vienna. She is co-founder of the feminist theatre collective Glossy Pain. Her work can be seen at the Volksbühne Berlin, the TD Berlin, the Volkstheater Munich, the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe and the Theater an der Ruhr in Mülheim, among others.
Sistas! by Golda Barton, which premiered at the Volksbühne in 2022 and which she co-directed with Isabelle Redfern, was invited to Radikal Jung in 2023, where it won the audience award. It was also invited to the Mülheimer Theatertage and the Nachbarşchaften Festival at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg and was longlisted for the Theatertreffen and nominated for the Friedrich Luft Prize. Katharina's production of Woyzeck, which premiered at the Theater an der Ruhr in February 2023, was invited to the Fast Forward Festival 2023 in Dresden and the WestWind Festival 2024 in Essen. Further guest performances and festival invitations have taken her and her collective to the Urbäng! Festival in Cologne, PATHOS Munich, BritneyX at Schauspiel Köln and Duisburg Theatre.
BOCK is her second work at the Theater an der Ruhr.
